Yusef Mack (16-0-1, 10 KO's) vs. Randy Griffin (17-1, 10 KO's)

Showtime continues with it's Shobox series on Thursday, May 20th, when they present a 12 round IBA

America's cruiserweight title (vacant) showdown between Darnell "Ding-A-Ling Man" Wilson (16-1-1, 14

KO's) and James "The African Express'' Lubwama (16-1, 9 KO's). Also on the card, super middleweight

Yusef Mack (15-0-1, 9 KO's) will be facing Randy Griffin

Darnell Wilson is coming into this fight having won his last 15 in a row spanning back to 2001. Wilson won

the Maryland State Light Heavyweight Title in November of 2002 with an eighth round TKO over Dana

Rucker (13-5, 10 KO's). And in his last two bouts, he has disposed of his opponents by third round TKO's -

Antoine Robinson (26-9-1, 9 KO's) in December of 2003 and Forrest Neal (15-4, 11 KO's) in March of

2004.

James Lubwama is replacing Laudelino "Lino'' Barros (originally scheduled to fight Wilson) and is coming

into this fight with a seventh round TKO win over Dave Hadden (6-14, 1 KO) in March of this year. Lubwama

started his boxing career in 1998 and won his first 15 fight in a row before losing a unanimous decision in his

second to last bout to Willie Stewart (20-1, 11 KO's) in August of 2003.

Two fighters with similar records makes for an interesting bout on paper. With Lubwama taking this fight on

short notice, I'll give the edge to Wilson - Wilson by decision.

The co-feature for the night will see the unbeaten super middleweight Yusef Mack in action. Mack started his

boxing career in 2000 and quickly won his first three bouts before drawing with Jose Aponte (18-25-4, 16

KO's) in 2001. Since then, he's rolled off 12 wins in a row including his last bout (April, 2004) against Ray

Berry (19-15-2, 7 KO's) via unanimous decision.

Randy Griffin comes into this bout having only lost once in his career - oddly enough, it was a decision loss

to tonight's IBA America's cruiserweight title contender James Lubwama (May, 2002).  Griffin has won his

last  six in a row including a third round TKO win over Karl Willis (24-17-1, 16 KO's) in his last bout (March,

2004).

Again, two fighters with similar records. Mack wins by decision.
