Special Thanks goes out to Julio Heller for the article and the pictures (with a little editing form us)

In the midst of his training for his fight against the Japanese Kazushi Sakuraba on December 31st in

Japan, Wanderlei Silva used his last weekend before the trip to Japan to carry out a Social Outreach

Program together with the community of the Village Zumbi, one of the places most devoid in the city of

Curitiba.

Duly dressed as Santa Claus, the Champion of  PRIDE coordinated the distribution of more than 4,000 toys

for the children of the region.  This campaign had the contribution of the Transamérica Radio of Curitiba,

Cabral Honda Motor, Joaçaba Express and Church of the Perpetual Evangelho - It is through the involvement

of all that this action became possible.

Wanderlei used the opportunity to express his thankfulness for the incredible year of 2004, and is waiting to

close it out in a wonderful way with a victory on December 31st. He also stated that he intends to make this

type of social program a frequent one in his life. When asked about the fight (with Saku), Silva made the

following comment:  "The gift of the Sakuraba was already separate in the deep one of the bag of Santa

Claus..."
