PRIDE UPDATE

According to Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira's official site, they have received word directly from Japan that

Ricardo Arona will not participate in the Pride Grand Prix on August 10, 2003. Apparently, Arona suffered

an injury to his ankle and to two ligaments while training.

Rumored to be in negotiations with Pride is Murilo Bustamante. The former UFC middleweight champion is

in Japan and could step in for Arona.

How will this change impact Quenton Jackson?

If there's any, it will probably be to Jackson's benefit as Bustamante has a stand-up game and might mix it

up with Jackson if he can't get him to the ground.

We'll let you know what the official word from Pride will be.
