The WBA has a Spanish report on their website that states that middleweight boxers Ricardo Mayorga

(27-4, 23 KO's) and Felix "Tito'' Trinidad (41-1, 34 KO's) made a bet last Friday of $100,000 to the winner

of their fight to be held on October 2nd at the Madison Square Garden in New York, New York. The bout is

scheduled for 12 rounds although they will not be fighting for any titles.

UFC

The UFC has released the following statement on their website in regards to the lawsuit filed by fighter BJ

Penn against them:

"ZUFFA, LLC RESPONSE TO LITIGATION FILED BY BJ PENN

LAS VEGAS, NEV, July 26, 2004…Zuffa, LLC was recently served with a civil action by BJ Penn. Zuffa’s

executives and litigation counsel have reviewed the document and contend there is absolutely no merit to

any of the allegations. Accordingly, Zuffa will aggressively defend the frivolous case and will seek

reimbursement for its legal fees and cost."
