In case you didn't get a chance to read a newspaper or surf the net yesterday, here's a small snippet of

what was out there.

- The AP (Fox Sports) was reporting that John Ruiz is upset at Roy Jones Jr. for not helping promote their

heavyweight bout in which Jones Jr. won a decision and the WBA heavyweight championship away from

Ruiz. Ruiz was getting a percentage while Jones. Jr. was guaranteed a purse. The total for the fight was not

what Ruiz had hoped for. Ruiz will fight on December 6th against Hasim Rahman for the interim WBA

heavyweight title. If Jones Jr. does not defend his WBA heavyweight title within four months, then the winner

of that bout will become champion.

-  Rocky is being sued! The AP (USA Today) also reported that former heavyweight boxer Chuck Wepner

(35-14-2, 17 KO's) is suing Sylvester Stallone for a share of the profits from the "Rocky" movies, claiming

the series was based on his career. 

- Finally, the AP (USA Today) reported something some of you fight fans may not have known - that Marco

Antonio Barrera has a metal plate in his head (since 1997). Not from boxing or an accident but from a

genetic condition. Barrera has fought 16 times since the implant to relieve pressure and has passed all

regulatory tests since then.
