IBF Bantamweight Championship Title Bout - 12 Rounds Rafael Marquez (30-3, 27 KO's) wins a unanimous decision (118-110, 118-110, 117-111) over IBA Champ Muaricio Pastrana (30-4-1, 19 KO's) - Marquez retains IBF title - Marquez puts on a clinic - He never let Pastrana get the advantage - From the beginning, Marquez used his jab to keep Pastrana at bay - Pastrana got frustrated and couldn't get in to do any real damage - Pastrana did look to have the advantage in in-close boxing when he was able to get in close but that was few and far between - also, there was some good combos that Pastrana put together but Marquez was able to box his way out of any danger - The way I saw the fight Pastrana took two rounds and Marquez ten, so there was an Obvious winner - AL
WBC Super Featherweight Elliminator Bout - 12 Rounds Erik Morales (45-1, 34 KO's) wins at 2:58 of the third round by knock out over Guty Espadas (37-6, 23 KO's) - Morales is back - not that he went anywhere but many were saying that the last time these two met, Morales didn't do so well - he won the fight but there was some controversy - Well, all that flew out the window today, Morales was there to prove a point. We all know the story by now on how he was sick last time he fought Espadas- that's why he didn't do as well as he has shown in the past - Not tonight - Morales landed his jab at will - he put some great combos together - Espadas at times landed his own combos but it didn't seem to hurt Morales - Morales seemed to study Espadas for the first two rounds - the longer the fight went, the better Morales looked - By the third round, Morales had Espadas figured out - landing some great body punches and putting his jab together with power punches thirteen seconds left in the round - Morales lands a jab and a overhand right that lands right above the ear that sends Espadas down and out for the count - AL
Jesus Gonzales (2-0, 2 KO) wins by knock out at :26 of the first round over Josh Peters (1-2, 0 KO) - This one ended quick - Peters doesn't even get a chance to break a sweat - before he knows it, Peters has to block a left and then another left - then Gonzales throws the hooking left "of all time" that goes through Peters defense and nails him right on the face, sending him across the entire ring - Peters barely makes the ten count but he is in no condition to continue - the ref sees this and stops the fight 26 seconds into the first round - AL Carlos Hernandez ( 40-3-1, 24 KO's) wins by technical 10 round unanimous decision due to accidental head butt (97-93, 97-94, 98-92) over Steve Forbes (23-2, 6 KO's) - Hernandez retains his title
IBF Light Flyweight Championship Title Bout - 12 Rounds Daniel Reyes (33-1-1, 28 KO's) wins by sixth round TKO over Edgar Cardenas (30-11-2, 16 KO's) - Reyes becomes new IBF Light Flyweight Champ
