WBA / IBF Featherweight Unification Title Bout - 12 Rds

Juan Manuel Marquez (42-2, 33 KO's) wins a seventh round decision (70-63, 69-64, 70-63) due to an

accidental head butt over Derrick "Smoke" Gainer (39-6, 24 KO's) - Marquez becomes new WBA

featherweight champ and retains his IBF featherweight title - Gainer could not continue after the head butt

but looked like he didn't want to fight throughout the bout (perhaps his previous injury was not properly

healed?)

The HBO crew interviewed Roy Jones Jr. after the Marquez / Gainer bout and basically he said he's ready

to whoop anyone's ass who wants a piece of him. Jones. Jr. gave a pretty funny interview.

WBC Lightweight Title Bout - 12 Rds

Floyd Mayweather Jr. (31-0, 21 KO's) wins by TKO at 1:50 of the seventh round over Phillip N'Dou (31-2,

30 KO's) - N'Dou's corner was ready to throw in the towel after he went down but N'Dou was gesturing not to

but the ref stepped in and stopped the bout anyway - Mayweather retains title - Very Good Fight
