Lewis Vacates IBF Title

According to the Associated Press, WBC Heavyweight Champion Lennox Lewis has vacated his IBF title because he didn't want to face IBF mandatory challenger Chris Byrd whom Lewis feels is not really a match for him.

To help persuade him, the AP reported that Don King gave Lewis $1 million dollars and a Range Rover.

The reason being King wants to set up heavyweight title bouts between Evander Holyfield and Chris Byrd for the now vacant IBF Title and a WBC Title Bout with Champ John Ruiz and Roy Jones Jr. -

Yes, Roy Jones Jr.

King promotes all but Jones who he hopes to sign to make the fights possible in December.

Meanwhile, rumor has it Mike Tyson has enacted his option to fight  Lennox Lewis again.

Lewis can fight one bout before having to face Tyson.

Now that Tyson appears to have changed trainers, it looks like the rematch could be what the first fight should have been.

Now we just have to wait and see what Lewis wants to do.
