Larry Landless Interview

April 18, 2004

Submission Factory

La Puente, CA

As promised, our interview with Larry Landless that we did at his grappling event last weekend. Larry talks

about his upcoming refereeing plans and if he plans to continue fighting. (This interview is transcribe from

a video interview that we did at Larry's Submission Factory on April 18th).

Al: I'm Al Nava for thefightgame.tv along side Larry Landless at his Submission Factory - Larry, how did you

feel about your tournament?

Larry: We were a little low on participation. I had three guys do a round robin for grappling. We're just

going to be doing some grappling tournaments for a little bit. They're safer and we don't have to worry about

sanctioning or anything and these guys are just doing it for the experience and the fun, so everyone gets a

medal just for coming out. If anyone wants to participate, the next match will be on May 9th on a Sunday.

Fighters have to be here at 3:30 (pm) and we open the doors at 5 (pm) and we start the matches at

5:30 (pm).

Al: What's next for you as far as refereeing or fighting?

Larry: I'm suppose to referee Rumble on the Rock on May 7th in Hawaii. And my next refereeing gig after

that is May 22nd in Guam. After that, I really don't know - I have to look at the calendar...(chuckling) yeah, I

have to look at my calendar.

Al: What about fighting, when is that coming up for you?

Larry: Well, I was hoping to fight at the end of May but they changed the tournament to the beginning of

May and it's too soon and I didn't put my name in in time so I'll wait to see.  Terry (Treblecock - KOTC)

asked me to fight in August in King of the Cage on Pay-Per-View, I'll do that. In-between, I don't know

exactly what I'm going to do. I'm just going to train...just continue to train. I have a personal trainer at

Evolution Fitness in Pasadena, they're the best. I'm going to put my faith in them and stick to the eating

plan and the diet. Hopefully, just start to trim up and get better at what I'm doing.

Al: Are they also training you at fighting or just body-wise?

Larry: Just Conditioning, strength and conditioning. They do a lot of  core strength training, Plyometrics,

explosive quick twitch muscle stuff that improves you as an athlete. And that's the key right there. I still

have to train kickboxing with Attila...put in some more time there. I haven't been doing too much, just a little

on my own. And I grapple every week, at least two or three times a week so I just need to start to step up

the grappling and kickboxing in-between my core strength training. I'm doing a triathlon next week, so it's

going to help me get into shape. I'll start doing these mini triathlons once a month to get into shape, to get

ready for this.

Al: Larry, as always, thank you very much.

Larry: Thank you.

Thefightgame.tv would like to thank Mr. Landless and all the guys from Submission Factory for all their

hospitality.
