Here's a quick recap of  what went down yesterday at K-1 in Japan.

Fight 1 - Super Fight

Bjorn Bregy wins by knock out at 2:50 of the first round over Michael McDonald

Fight 2
Rey Sefo wins a two round majority decision 2-0 (20-19, 20-19, 19-19) over Carter Williams - Williams was

penalized a point for an elbow in the second round and the doctor stopped the fight due to swelling and

possible eye injury of Sefo - bout stopped in second round

Fight 3

Sam Greco wins by TKO at :30 of the second round over Peter Graham - stoppage (towel thrown in) -

Graham may have broken his leg

Fight 4
Alexey Ignashov vs. Mike Bernardo - Ignashov comes out throwing some hard low kicks right off the bat

but most of them were blocked. Both fighters start measuring themselves and really don't do anything till the

end of the round - with about a minute left, Bernardo lands some great punches to the head and body - that's

how the round ends.

Round 2 - Ignashov keeps with the same game plan - attacking with the kicks - he throws another low kick,

this one landing to the back leg of Bernardo almost sending him down - after a few more seconds, Ignashov

lands a left right punch combo then another low Thai kick to the leg sending Bernardo down in pain -

Bernardo wasn't able to get up in time and he was out.

Fight 5
Peter Aerts vs. Jerrel Venetiaan - Both fighters are cautious and start measuring each other - Aerts lands

a good right but cannot capitalize - Venetiaan recuperates - Aerts lands another right hurting Venetiaan but

he lasts the 10 seconds left in the round.

Round 2 - Aerts pushes the fight - stalking Venetiaan, landing some good punches - Venetiaan counters with

kicks keeping Aerts at bay till the end of the round.

Round 3 - Venetiaan comes out extremely active, throwing punches and kicks but Aerts makes him pay for

that by landing a left and a right to the face of Venetiaan - Aerts keeps on moving forward throughout the rest

of the fight landing a bit more punches and kicks than Venetiaan - the fight ends. Aerts wins by

decision.

Fight 6
Stefan Leko vs. Francisco Filho - Both fighters come out with fire, delivering hard punches and kicks -

Leko pushing the fight but at times, Filho doing more damage as he counters. Leko throws a spinning heel

kick that misses, then Filho delivers his own spinning heel kick but he throws it low to the leg area and lands

it clean on Leko's leg just below his knee. Soon after, the bell rings.

Round 2 - Leko pushing the fight again, landing punch after punch but just can't seem to put the right

combination together to take out Filho - Filho is a tough cookie - Leko out punched and out kicked Filho

throughout the round.

Round 3 - Leko finds the openings, catching Filho many times with jabs and rights and kicks to the legs -

the whole round goes the same way - Leko landing with Filho countering or at least trying to counter - even

though Leko found many openings, he was unable to put the right combo to put Filho down and out - the

fight ends - winner Leko by decision

Fight 7
Cyril Abidi vs. Francois Botha -Botha comes out charging and punching to the face of Abidi pushing him

back - Abidi goes down, not by a punch but what seemed to be a slip as he was crowded and going

backwards - Botha leaned over Abidi as he was down and delivers an uppercut to the face of Abidi - the ref

steps in and stops the fight - Abidi cannot continue so Botha was disqualified for hitting a downed opponent.

Fight 8

Remy Bonjasky vs. Bob Sapp - This round was filled with action - Sapp charged Bonjasky - Bonjasky

moving and punching, lands many punches and kicks to Sapp's body and face - Sapp delivers his own

punches but Bonjasky covers and moves really well -  Sapp looks winded at the end of the round.

Round 2 - Sapp comes out again as in the first round taking the fight to Bonjasky, pushing him to the ropes

with punches - Bonjasky defends by moving and countering - Bonjasky lands a left round house to Sapp's

face - immediately follows it up with a right cross sending the massive beast down to the canvas -  not for

long though, Sapp gets back up and pushes Bonjasky with punches but not many landed - Bonjasky falls

back as he is backpedaling - Bonjasky is on the ground and Sapp is right over him - Sapp delivers a

devastating punch right to the face of Bonjasky - the ref steps in and stops the fight - another disqualification

Sapp is DQ'ed for hitting a downed opponent.

Folks, I'm speechless as to the last two fights. All I can say is, what's next?
