Oct. 11th update

K-1 has announced that Carter Williams and Bob Sapp will represent the United States in the October

11th "World Grand Prix: Final Elimination" event in Osaka, Japan.

According to K-1, this is the first time that two Americans will travel to Japan to participate in the "World

Grand Prix: Final Elimination" event. Williams and Sapp are looking to become the first American to win the

K-1 Grand Prix Championship. The October 11th event marks the first time that K-1 will be broadcast live to

the U.S. from Japan on Pay-Per-View.

The "World Grand Prix: Final Elimination" will be made up of seven single bouts. There will be no

tournament. The winner of each bout will continue on to the K-1 "World Grand Prix 2003 Final" on December

6, 2003 in Tokyo, Japan.

The October 11th card has not been finalized.
