Special Thanks go out to Ian Dean and Cagewarriors.com for the following information:

The curse of Dave Roche has struck again, as a cut suffered in training has meant that he has been forced

to withdraw from his eagerly awaited clash with Newcastle’s Dave “Speedy” Elliot.  This now means that

the fight has now been cancelled and Dave Elliot has also been withdrawn from the card.  However in order to

keep the fans happy the FCFN Promoters have moved the Paul "Hands of Stone" Jenkins/Danny

Fletcher fight to Main Event status.

Paul “Hands of Stone" Jenkins is one of the most famous and well liked UK MMA personalities and has a

staggering 24-19-3 record.  Jenkins has already fought 14 times this year against a mix of top level UK and

international opposition and is also the Cage Rage Welterweight Champion.  However Jenkins is in the

middle of his longest losing streak and has been 0-4 since winning that title.  He will be eager not to make it

5 straight losses against Fletcher who he was originally due to face at Cage Rage 8 in September.

Danny Fletcher is from London and fights out of the famous Peacock Gym which has seen some of the top

names in the UK Boxing scene train there.  It has also seen MMA fighters training there in their own

separate invite only classes to improve their game.  With a background in Muay Thai and BJJ, Fletcher

dominated Steve Cunningham in his previous MMA appearance at Cage Rage 5 in February.  Although

Fletcher did not need to show much of his striking prowess in a short fight in which he won via by armbar

after taking down his opponent with a slam after 1.34 of round 1.

Fletcher was due to take on Jenkins at Cage Rage 8 however due to personal reasons he pulled out, but he

will be eager to show the various scouts on display from Cagewarriors, Cage Rage and Extreme Brawl that

he is a serious contender in the UK welterweight ranks, in what should be a great mix of stand-up and

submission fighting that would be welcomed in any one of the "bigger" UK shows.

Other highlights of what promises to be a great night of UK MMA action includes Brian Adams taking on

Glen Appleby of the Elite Fighting Systems gym.  Adams (2-0-0) was victorious in the last FCFN event

when he beat Appleby’s teammate Deckland Long via rear naked choke.  Adams took down his London

based opponent and unleashed a brutal display of Ground and Pound which set up a fine win and sent the

home fans in the intense pier side hall ecstatic and created an atmosphere that many other shows fail to

match.

Glen Appleby (2-4-0) is experienced and gusty and has fought on big shows in the past such as

Cagewarriors and Cage Rage, fighting the likes of Rob Mitchell, Ross Pettifer and Mark Epstein.  Although

he may not be regarded as a top fighter, his never-say-die attitude epitomizes that of the Elite Fighting

Systems gym and he will push the local favorite all the way.

Another attraction is a battle of two local fighters as the Cage Gym's own Chris Freeborne (3-9-0) takes on

Phil "Billy" Harris (5-2-0) from Andy Foreman's Team Warriors Gym.  This should be an interesting

submission standoff between the Sambo stylings of Freeborne, who despite his record has took on the best

at 65.8kgs and the Judo submission skills of Harris, who recently loss in controversial fashion to UKMMAC

“World” 65.8kg champion Luiz Tosta.

The pick of the Semi-Pro action features the long awaited MMA debut of the Alex DeSouza's Purple belt

"Rodrigo" as he takes on Jack McGee (who is also making his debut) from Sol Gilbert's ZT Fight Skool in

Brighton at the 84kg Semi-Pro division.

And FCFN wouldn’t be complete without it's now trademark UK-1 fights, this innovative and popular addition

to the UK MMA scene debuted at FCFN 1, and has grown in strength with rumors of a UK-1 only card in

2005.  Northern Cartel member Matt "12 gauge" Thorpe takes on Dan Lloyd, whilst perennial crowd favorite

Paul "Clarkey" Clarke makes his 3rd FCFN appearance by taking on Nigel Ford, in this exciting hybrid

kickboxing style.

All tickets for this event are sold out and rumours are circulating that FCFN will move into a brand new arena

in 2005 to accommodate its expanding fan base.

FCFN Co-promoter and the UK's number 1 MMA Referee, Grant Waterman said that "This is going to be

the noisiest MMA event to date and a real night to remember. There will be promoters from Cage Rage, Cage

Warriors and Extreme Brawl there as well as others, so it's a great platform for people to show their skills.

Full contact Fighter magazine and the local press are covering the event and the Wrestling Channel people

are filming it.” (Not that they guarantee to show it).

“It’s going to be awesome”
