Oscar
De La Hoya's Golden Boy productions presents Fiesta
De La Hoya - The Night of the Aztec Warriors
live
on Pay-Per-View this Saturday
night. The card will
feature three world
title bouts plus a promising
undefeated
up and comer.
In
the main event, WBC
super bantamweight champion
Oscar Larios (49-3-1,
34 KO's) will be making
his
fourth
title defense (sixth
technically) against Napapol Kiatisakchokchai (22-1,
18 KO's). Larios
won the
WBC
interim super bantamweight
title back in May of 2002 and made two defenses before winning it
outright
against Willie
Jorrin (29-2-1, 13
KO's) in November of
2002 by first round TKO. Larios lost his first
attempt
at capturing the WBC
title when he lost a controversial
unanimous decision to Jorrin (then WBC
champion)
in January of 2001.
Larios has also avenged
one other loss. He lost to Israel Vazquez (35-3, 25
KO's)
back in 1999 by way of
first round knock out
but beat him by 12th round TKO
in May of last year to
capture
the interim title. His last
fight was in September
of this year when he
beat Kozo Ishii (31-4,
21
KO's) by
second round TKO.
Napapol
Kiatisakchokchai's only loss came early in his career and since then, has
won 20 in a row (picking
up
the WBC international super bantamweight title along the way). His last
bout was in May of this year
when
he defeated Simon Ramoni (19-6, 12 KO's) by eighth round TKO.
In
the semi-main event, undefeated 2000 U.S. Olympian Jose
Navarro will battle hard knocking Reynaldo
Hurtado.
Hurtado has won 13 in a row since his last defeat in
November of 1997.
Next, Javier Jauregui
will take on Leavander
Johnson for the vacant
IBF
lightweight title.
Jauregui
is coming off a fourth round knock out
of Juan Gomez Trinidad (23-3, 16 KO's) in June of this
year
in an IBF lightweight title eliminator.
Johnson
has a
notable win over Sharmba Mitchell (52-3, 29 KO's) back in 1994 (eighth
round knock out).
His
last bout was a majority
decision win over Julian Wheeler (22-7-2, 8 KO's) for the USBA
lightweight
title
(was also an IBF lightweight
title eliminator) back in October of 2002.
Finally,
undefeated Octavio Lara,
trained by Emanuel Steward, will round out the card.
