After the usual setbacks and unfortunate pull outs, the Cagewarriors Fighting Championships is proud to

announce the updated fight card for its December 18th event in Sheffield.

Sheffield, England (PRWEB) December 17, 2004 -- There have been several changes to the Cagewarriors 9:

Xtreme Xmas card since the last CWFC Press Release. The changes start with the CWFC Welterweight

Champion Abdul Mohamed confirming he will defend his title against Paul "Semtex" Daley, after working

his way to a convincing judges decision victory last weekend in Wales.

Also, the CWFC Featherweight Champion Emmanuel Fernandez has pulled out of the card after being

assaulted in France this past weekend. He is now replaced by the Shooto Europe veteran Tom Niinimäki

8-2-0. Niinimäki takes on Andres "Gigetto" Soares from the American Top Team in what should be a skilful

submission showdown.

Also, with 48 hours to go, Dave Roche was also forced to pull out due to a death in the family which

caused the CWFC to re-shuffle the fight card. As a result, GesiasJZCalvancanti takes Dave Roche's

place and takes on the UFC vet Gerald "The Finishing Machine" Strebendt for the vacant CWFC

Lightweight Title this Saturday. Whilst Leigh Remedios answered an 11th hour SOS and subsequently

makes his CWFC Debut at CW 9 against the tough Turk Cengiz Dana from the Outsider Club in Germany.

Finally CWFC Promoter/Owner Dougie Truman has also confirmed that a traditional full rules BJJ

superfight (with Gi) will take place within the 32ft CWFC Octagon at Cagewarriors 9: Xtreme Xmas.

Fight Card
All CWFC MMA bouts will be held using Professional NSAC/CWFC MMA Rules, consisting of three, 5

minute rounds (3x5) for non-title bouts and five, 5 minute rounds (5x5) for Title fights and will be held inside

the 32ft custom made titanium CWFC octagon, which includes a built-in outer ring walkway and hydraulic

lifting catwalk.

Fighters are from the UK unless mentioned otherwise. Card subject to change (in provisional fight order)
