Sky Sports now gives Cage Rage 90 minutes plus a move to Saturday night on December 4th
November 27, 2004 Wembley Conference Centre Stadium
Way, HA9 0DW (England)
With less than ONE week to go till the next big Cage Rage event in London, Cage Rage 9 No Mercy, None given! None taken! Will see an array off mixed martial arts superstars with Ian “The Machine” Freeman versus Ryan Robinson for the Cage Rage heavyweight title and UFC veterans Matt “The Law” Lindland versus Mark “The Wizard” Weir who recently won The WEC North American middleweight title. This show will also see the rematch between Mike “The Count” Bisping and Mark “The Beast” Epstein for the light heavyweight title, with crowd favourite Paul “Hands of Stone” Jenkins fighting Gerald Strebendt in Paul’s first Welterweight title defence with big screens keeping spectators on the edge of their seats showing pre fight interviews, all the action as it takes place, the fabulous ring girls, give aways and special guests including television celebrity Richard Blackwood hosting the event plus the return of Jean Silva.
Jean Silva (10-2-2) will defend his Lightweight Title against the Frenchman Sammy Schiavo (3-2-0) in a rematch of their epic three round war at Cagewarriors 2. As nearly two years ago to the day, these two skillful submission specialists put on an amazing show which is still talked about as one of the best fights in UK MMA history. Schiavo, who took the fight on short notice, has been eager for a re-match and gets his chance at Cage Rage 9, whilst Silva will be wanting to put behind him a very average performance against Ollie Ellis at Cage Rage 7, where many observers felt he was lucky to get a draw against the Team Savage fighter.
